15 Reasons To Not Be Ignoring Item Upgrading

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items efficiently.

Upgrades to equipment give a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus scales depending on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. They can be obtained by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or buying them from karma dealers. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them or by using a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items upgrades aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.

The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, however, they also serve other functions. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chance of upgrading its target while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense attributes of weapons.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components to which the item can be updated. Alternately, you can utilize the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either instance, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier.  item upgrades  determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded using that component. Organic components, for example, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is therefore best to upgrade using organic components until you reach the experience multiplier of the next rank of equipment or weapon, and then change to mechanical upgrades.

Each item comes with an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of upgrades are determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon that is tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a set of items which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade will increase the bonuses that are guaranteed. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon will give it an increase of +1 to its primary stat. In subsequent upgrades the stats of the primary one will be boosted a little more (for instance, +1 to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item, one of its extra stats will be increased randomly.

Upgrades can also increase a weapon's damage base. This could be crucial for certain types of weapons. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a greater defense base than their regular base. Upgrading can be a good way to improve the value of certain sets and unique items, however it is important to keep in mind that they might not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.

If an item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled a few times and its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, but the new item will offer various bonuses. Upgrades can be made at the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

A player can reroll any item acquired in the game provided they have enough reroll tokens to do so. If an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for the level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will have the same benefits of the previous one however, its stats will be different as well.

Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as rerolling it by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

Players can also boost the level of an item equipped device by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the item's upgrader NPC. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and kind. Each step will give 5% more damage to weapons.

Upgrading an item can make it more powerful however it can also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while other items require upgrades to reach their full potential. One player may wish to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modification ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to discover what it could become.

Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it to gain access to a character or weapon they would not otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming to obtain and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only options left is to shell out real money or grind a lot. For this reason, rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but as gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels and you'll typically replace the item before it gets old enough. It's not worth upgrading items using gem sockets since the power of the stone will outweigh any increment in ilvl.

If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll get a small screen with the item's upgrade template and the crest and Valorstone costs to boost the level of the item. Armor and weapons will have different costs, with the former generally being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the stats to be added to an upgraded item, and also the current base ilvl.

The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. Additionally the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For example the weapon that has an increase of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8 percent.

In addition to the increase in ilvl base the item will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and dodge, block, and parry rating. The increases are also based on the upgrade template.

The amount of defense and damage the item will receive as it gets leveled up can be observed below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, gain these stats upon leveling up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command an incredibly higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other armor pieces like circlets and Tiaras.
